What is polydicyclopentadiene (PDCP)?

PDCP is an olefin-based thermosetting resin made of hydrocarbons. It is regarded as environmentally sound, as it emits less carbon dioxide throughout its lifecycle compared to other major resins, from raw material procurement, resin material preparation, and molding to disposal. Its primary applications include molding of large, complex shapes and materials that require a low-viscosity and a low-dielectric property.

High-performance thermoset resins

TELENE®1600/1700 series for large-scale molding is used for the body parts of trucks, buses, construction and agricultural equipment, and other products because it is lightweight, resistant to impact, heat, water, and chemicals, and provides electrical insulation. And due to its excellent water and chemical resistance, it is also used for seawater pump casings, combined septic tanks, and other environment-related products.

The new formulation TELENE®1800 series can be applied to electrical, electronic, and high-frequency components because of its characteristics of permeating very small gaps and of its low dielectric properties. In addition, it is adhesive to fillers, fibers, and metals, opening up possibilities for other applications.
