High-performance thermoset resins

RIMTEC Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zeon Corporation and plays a significant role in Zeon Group businesses that use the C5 fraction as a primary raw material. We are particularly focused on supplying resin materials composed of dicyclopentadiene (DCP) from the C5 fraction, polydicyclopentadiene or PDCP, and on proposing new applications to customers as we respond to society’s needs.
PDCP is an olefin-based thermosetting resin made of hydrocarbons. It is regarded as environmentally sound, as the CO2 it emits throughout its lifecycle—from raw material procurement and resin production to molding and disposal—is lower than that of other major resins. Its primary applications include the molding of large, complex shapes and materials that require low-viscosity and low-dielectric properties.
TELENE®1600/1700 series for large-scale molding is used for the body parts of trucks, buses, construction and agricultural equipment, and other products because it is lightweight, resistant to impact, heat, water, and chemicals, and provides electrical insulation. And due to its excellent water and chemical resistance, it is also used for seawater pump casings, combined septic tanks, and other environment-related products.
The new formulation TELENE®1800 series can be applied to electrical, electronic, and high-frequency components since it fills very small gaps and has low-dielectric properties. In addition, it adheres to fillers, fibers, and metals, opening up possibilities for other applications.
